The vice-counsellor of the Presidency, Interior and Public Administrations of the Regional Government of Andalusia bets on institutional coordination in Cadiz to promote port development

The vice-counsellor of the Presidency, Interior and Public Administrations of the Regional Government of Andalusia, Antonio Sanz, has made a first institutional contact today with the Port of the Bay of Cadiz coinciding with the publication this morning in the Official State Gazette of the appointment of the president of the Port Authority of the Bay of Cadiz, Teófila Martínez Saiz.
The vice-counsellor, accompanied by the delegate of the Government of the Board in Cadiz, Ana Mestre, highlighted the role of the port as an engine of economic and social development and bet on the coordination and drive of all administrations so that future projects go ahead.
In this sense, he stressed the importance of the railway connection of the dock of La Cabezuela-Puerto Real, as well as the new container terminal and the entry into service of this new infrastructure or the development of LOGICA, of which he said, “goes beyond an industrial and business park and has to be the central axis of the Logistics Platform of Southern Europe.
To this end, they have agreed to convene a meeting in the next few days with the main players in the LOGICA project in order to promote its development.
The president of the Bay of Cadiz Port Authority, for her part, has stressed the importance of solving the tunnel access to the New Container Terminal, execute as soon as possible the railway connection to La Cabezuela-Puerto Real, promote the dredging of the access channel to the port and strengthen the marketing and presence of the Port Authority and business agents of the sector in places of strategic decision making.
Martínez’s objective is also to work on the port integration project not only in the city of Cádiz, but also in El Puerto de Santa María and Puerto Real, with the aim of “making a more dynamic port by putting all its assets into production as soon as possible”.
